#GoodNews: "Thank You" Comes After Life Save 70 Years Ago

Ken Beeton was just 18 months old when he fell into a river. Ken Gibson, who was 9 years old at the time, pulled him from the water and saved his life.

It's been 70 years since the incident, and Ken B. has always wanted to thank his hero. After an extensive search, he finally reunited with 78-year-old Ken G.

Gibson said Beeton's father gave him an unexpected reward, in the form of a gold medal he had earned during World War II. He kept it all these years, saying it reminded him of the boy he rescued. At their reunion, Gibson surprised Beeton by giving him the medal.

"It belongs to you, it belonged to your dad," Gibson said.

“I think my dad would be overwhelmed to see this medal again.”
