Carmina Burana at the Janet Quinney Lawson Capitol Theatre

The day after Nicolo Fonte’s Carmina Burana closed in 2017, patrons were asking when Ballet West would stage it again. With an immense choir suspended over the ferocious choreography on stage, the reviews were outstanding: “Beautiful, gripping, and dynamic,” declared The Salt Lake Tribune.

The program will open with Jerome Robbins’ Glass Pieces, a showcase of the great choreographer’s expansive scope and streamlined style. The ballet captures the pulsating heartbeat of metropolitan life with its charged choreography, concluding in a finale that propels the corps de ballet across the stage at an electrifying pace.
